The Bihar Cabinet on Tuesday approved the formation of a Bihar Youth Commission aimed at creating more employment opportunities, offering skill training, and ensuring the overall empowerment of the state’s youth. Additionally, the Cabinet granted 35% reservation to native women of Bihar in direct recruitment to government posts. While women already had reservation benefits in Bihar, the government has now extended the policy specifically to women who are permanent residents of the state.

Chief Minister Nitish Kumar said he was pleased to announce the formation of the Bihar Youth Commission, which will advise the government on all matters concerning the development, welfare, and upliftment of the youth. It will also work closely with government departments to ensure better education and job access for young people, he wrote in a post on X.
