Prime Minister Narendra Modi is likely to visit China’s Tianjin from August 31 to September 1 for the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) Summit. The Tianjin Summit 2025 is the 25th Heads of State Council meeting of the SCO. The visit, if it happens, will be PM Modi’s first trip to Beijing since the Galwan clash in 2020 and sixth overall. Before visiting China for the SCO summit, PM Modi will first visit Japan on August 30, where he will participate in the annual India-Japan Summit with Japanese Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba. From there, he may travel to China for the summit. It will be the fifth time that China hosts the annual SCO summit.
