A devastating school shooting at BORG Dreierschützengasse in Graz has left at least eight people dead and several others wounded, in what authorities are calling one of the most tragic incidents in recent Austrian history.
The attack occurred around 10 a.m. at the secondary school in Graz, the country’s second-largest city. Police responded swiftly, launching a major operation and deploying special forces, including Austria’s elite tactical unit Cobra, known for handling high-risk situations.
According to police spokesperson Sabri Yorgun, the suspected shooter is believed to be a student at the school. He reportedly opened fire using multiple firearms before allegedly taking his own life. His body was later discovered in a bathroom inside the building.
